After initial user research we were faced with three main UX challenges. The first being that SevenRooms Dining was built on the nightlife platform as a band aided solution, we needed to establish the restaurant user flow. The second challenge being the fact that not every call is the goes the same way. Third we want to provide the opportunity to look across availability at multiple locations.
As I set out to start the redesign we were also using this opportunity update the visual language that was SevenRooms and to start our new style guide and templating systems.
This is just a glimpse into the power of the reservation system that is SevenRooms. Since this is proprietary to the SevenRooms reservation system I am limiting the exposure but would be more than happy to explain the decisions that went into the design and development of this project.
